    Recovery delay

I know that it is factory fixed on this model but do different programs use different delay speeds? Or is it one for all?

So recovery delay is the same for Hi Trash & coin and jewelry & relic?

How does it improve target separation in hi trash if recovery is the same for all programs?

The recovery time for the MX series is very fast. Owing to the higher level of discrimination employed in the High Trash the machine can "recover" from seeing a bit of trash quickly enough to see a good target that is at least one coil's width away. Two targets under the coil simultaneously will result in "adjacent target masking" as the returns from both targets are contributing to the composite signal.

If you applied the same disc mask to C&J, you'd get the same results in terms of target separation and target ID.

I believe you are talking about sat speed if i understand you correctly. So sat speed works as such. Higher sat is faster response or recovery and requires a slightly quicker swing speed. Lower sat is slower response but also deeper and requires a slower swing speed.

TP .... No. SAT = Self Adjusting Threshold. Recovery Delay is the amount of time it takes for the machine to:

    1. Detect the target
    2. Analyze the target
    3. Display the target
    4. Housekeep and be ready for another target (Recover)

    1+2+3+4 = Recovery Delay

Remember, during RD process, with a couple of exceptions, your detector is "blind" until it has "Recovered"

This is excellent information! Now would the RD be shorter/faster if looking for coins in trashy areas in Relic Mode versus Coin and Jewellery mode?

Hi trash = more targets, closer together. Hence you want FASTER recovery = LESS delay. In that venue a DD coil will help even more, owing to its narrow beamwidth.

Helps even more to slow down your physical sweep speed.

    Hope this is helpful.
