    How to Insert Pictures

    Inserting Pictures in a Post

    CLICK IMAGES TO ENLARGE




    (1) All the picture file(s) must be under two (2.0) megabytes. If the file is larger you will get the message... (UPLOAD OF FILE FAILED), then you must resize the image smaller. Go to post number "2" for instructions how to resize picture file.

    (2) In the "TEXT BOX" place the cursor in the location in which to insert the picture.


    (3) Select "INSERT IMAGE" from the tool bar. Click image for larger version.

    (4) In the "INSERT IMAGE WINDOW", make sure to select "FROM COMPUTER." Click image for larger version.

    (5) Select "BROWSE" and this will open a window where you can select the file name of the picture you wish to use. Click image for larger version.

    This can be tricky because you must know the "DRIVE and then the "FOLDER" location where the picture file is stored. Click image for larger version.

    (7) To bring up "IMAGE SETTINGS" you double click the picture. Here you can change the size of your picture from "THUMBNAIL / MEDIUM / LARGE / FULL SIZE." Click image for larger version.

    Microsoft Paint is FREE with Windows


    (1) Go to START on the taskbar. Here you will type PAINT and hit ENTER. This will open PAINT Click image for larger version.

    (2) In the upper left corner, click the Dropdown Menu. Click on OPEN. Click image for larger version.

    (3) Here you must find the file stored on the hard drive. Find the folder and OPEN the picture file here. Click image for larger version.

    (4) Now that you have the file open, you need to resize it. Click RESIZE on the tool bar. Click image for larger version.

    (5) While in resize and skew, select PIXELS. Now look at the Horizontal and Vertical values and the one with the highest pixel value, change it to 1600 and click OK. This will give you a small enough file size to upload to the forum and still have a high enough quality to look good. Click image for larger version.

    (6) Now click on the Dropdown Menu again and select SAVE to over-write the old file name replacing it or click SAVE AS to create a new file, saving the old. I prefer using SAVE AS for you don't lose the higher quality picture. Here you need to name the new file and you can also choose a FILE TYPE. I use JPEG. Click image for larger version.

    Make sure to save picture file in a folder you can find it in.
