    GMT on COINS???

    Will the GMT also pick up coins and jewelry?

    Yes it will detect coins and jewelry. Especially gold jewelry. The frequency the GMT (48KHz) works at is better at prospecting, the job it was intended for. You’re better off using a VLF machine built for the job.

    Yes, but you will spend a LOT of time digging tiny bits of foil, wire, can slaw and the like. The high frequency hits hard on small targets. I would MUCH rather have an entry level VLF for coins and jewelry than the GMT. One trip to a trashy park will be about all you need to send you shopping !!
    If there's anything I hate worse than diggin' pulltabs, its missin' a gold ring.

    Yup, it will. The first coin I ever found was an 1889 'V' nickel...out in the middle of nowhere while gold prospecting. Found a 1900 at an old mine along the CA/NEV border 3 years ago, too.
