    Austratalian dirt

This doing a lot of sitting at the hospital is bad on my wallet.
Ive spent too much time on ebay and bought several things.

Can anyone tell me what Is special about the dirt in Australia ?
And why this special or is it just packaged different to help sales ?

If I recall this correctly, Australian soil is high in iron and other mineralization. The high mineralization makes it very hard to metal detect.

This special made for Australia (early 1980's model) simply had a ten turn stacked ground balance control. This staked control provides more resolution when setting the ground balance manually.

Regarding the difference between the iron mineralization (ground) in Australia, the iron ground mineral in Australia is typically millions of years older (more decayed) compared to anywhere else in the world. This further decayed iron, is way different compared to iron ground that has not decayed to that level.

    Thanks Howard.

So is it useless here in the States (Florida) and just a cool wall hanger.

No .... Your Australian version will work just fine here in the states !! It just has the ability to deal with matrix that we don't see !! Get out there and use it !!

Thanks Fox. Believe me, I'd love to get out and use it. Deb is still in the hospital, so I go be with her every day. I,v bought a few odd or older Whites lately and want to tinker with them.
