Question New 10" D2 Coil For the V3I

Just got my new coil in today & noticed the sticker does not say Spectra Series like my original one.

I was told this is the new coil for the V3I. The sales order says: Boltron V3 DD Accy Loop Assy.

Just need someone to confirm this is the correct coil for the V3I for piece of mind.

For some time now, ALL the E-series compatible (V3i, VX3, M-series) except MX Sport are V-rated ....

The coil does look different than mine. It looks like my 10” coil for my TreasurePro. Maybe White’s started using a different case for the V-Rated 10”DD. I hope not though. I really dislike the coils with the epoxy showing on the bottoms with the removable covers.

Heres a picture of my TreasurePro 10”DD coil...

That's what I was told when I called sweet home, who I ordered the coil from. The coil cover from my old coil does not fit & they said that the new covers will be in in about 2 weeks.

Why was my post moved? I was hoping to get an answer from sweet home to confirm the info I was told.

Your post was moved because the TTW forum is for new product suggestions. As noted there, it is not a "help" forum. Whites looks at the whole forum however, so no worries ....

Also noted that you have spoken directly to Sweet Home already. (That's what I was told when I called sweet home, who I ordered the coil from.) It doesn't get any more "official" than that !!

Thanks everyone. I did some research & found another website that stated that these are the new coil designs for the V3i.

It would be nice if there was some sort of press release when Whites changes/upgrades a design so we're not caught off guard.

Thanks for the update, I would have liked to know about the changes in the coil design too.

Is this the two coil designs noticed with the V-Rated coils?

    Thumbs up

The only difference I noticed is my new coil sticker is black & white. Your sticker is black, white & copper. Thanks for making a sticky!

The copper color is because it’s a TreasurePro coil. But the appearance in design is the same. I didn’t have a new V-Rated 10”DD coil with the different sticker.
Thanks for bringing this up the whole coil change in design. People will find this info useful.

I forgot to mention, the new coil has a little less weight to it. Probably due to less material being used in making the case. The older version coil I used to compare weight with is a brand new coil out of the box without a coil cover. The weight difference was not enough to get excited about. If anyone is really concerned about the difference, I can get an accurate weight if you’d like it.

Thanks again for the sticky as well as pointing out the sticker color difference.

On a side note I discovered Whites of New England is no longer in business. The regional center is for me is now in Pennsylvania.

The new coil also has different dimensions. There are no covers that fit it yet. Should be out either next week or the week following according to White's.

If the coil case is constructed exactly like the TreasurePro's 10”DD. There’s a cover over the coil now that’s protection for the epoxy. It should be replaceable too. If you purchase the other cover for extra protection then I recommend sealing both coil covers with silicone or some other sealer to prevent water and dirt from entering it. Here’s pictures of the bottom of the coil, showing the epoxy and the coil cover.
