    Odd shell

I think this may be what's referred to as a 6 in 1 blank, but I'm not sure, never seen one before. Very close to .38

Might be a blank, or might be from a nail driver .... Interesting find ....

Can't find anything like it. Agree, could be nail driver. Small end does telescope into the barrel.

Studied the shell a bit and have one more theory. It's design to load and function a semi auto pistol (also small rim).

reasoning: very tiny escape hole for pressure, this would force the telescoping part back opening the action.

I have 2 powder nail guns and the charge acts on a piston which drives the fastener. No chance this shell would.

I found a couple exactly like that at a place where the sheriffs dept trains dogs. Must be a training squid load.

I think it's a 9mm. Might see if it will fit a magazine and chamber. Front is chamfered too.

One of my shooting buddies said he has 2 from where some special ops were training. He thought they were used in their version of a paintball gun.

If close to .38 or 9mm and designed for a semi-auto, probably a .38 Super.

Might be frangible ammo used for trading. It’s ammo that breaks up easily. We use these for practice in house shooting
