I don't have any personal experience with the 12X10" SEF. However, based on what others have said about those two coils, I would say that the 12X10" would have an edge in separation, but the U-13" would have the edge in the depth department.

I have the U-13 and it does have good separation for a coil of that size .... Given the choice, I would go for the U-13, simply because it is a White's product, backed by their outstanding warranty and customer service ....

    Hope this is helpful ....

Thanks for your input!! Was leaning toward the U-13 because it is Whites product also!!! I own nothing but Whites and I didn't want to switch anything up now unless there was a huge difference!! Thanks again!!

IMO, the 10x12 coil beats the U13 in depth with any reliable target ID, at any real depth. Separation?, 10x12 is definitely the best.

    Jm2 cents.

When I had my V3i, I used the SEF 10x12 coil on it. It worked really well. I liked it better than the Whites 10" dd coil that came on the V3i. This was before the 13" ultimate coil came out. I purchased the 13" ultimate coil when it came out, and I did not like it as well as the 10x12 SEF. The 10x12 was just as deep, and the 13" ultimate with the extra 1" length, I would keep hitting the back of the coil with my foot when I walking and swinging the coil. It wouldn't seem that 1" would make a big difference, but it did. I tried increasing the length of the rod, but then that threw the balance way off for me.
