Whites Prizm II Questions
I want to get a used MD for my wife. I have a person who wants to sell one. Its a Prizm II. He claims he never got into the hobby and never used it. The batt is dead. He wants $20 for it. I have a V3I and know nothing about a Prizm II. What kind of batt(s) does it use? Is it worth $20. I want to a take batt over there to see if it works. Will the batt from my V3I work in it. Help thanks.

The Prizm take two (2) 9-volt batteries. The Prizm II was a "starter" level machine. No longer made. You need to make sure it works before you buy it. If he can't demo the unit, then I would pass. The manual is on-line at the Whites Electronics web site if he doesn't have one. You can find it under Service / Manuals. You might want to review the manual first.
Good luck.Last edited by deolslyfox; 10-27-2017 at 05:09 AM.

If it works, $20 doesn’t seem bad at all.
Here’s a link to the manual...

Thanks for your help. So I went to look at it. It was basically settiing on a shelf. The father bought it for his son who never used it. There isn't any marks on the unit or coil. I put 2 batt in it and it works great. However the battery box cover is missing. I would like to replace it. I saw a post on this forum where specifically you sent the cover to the customer at no charge. Hope you would do the same for me. Like i said, I only paid $20 for it. My son wants to start detecting with me. So I am giving it to him. Please let me know. If you can't do it at no charge, please let me know the cost. Again thanks. I know this isnt a V3I. But it is a good one to get my son started. I can give you my email or address. Thanks ps I sent you my contact information in a pm.
