I believe it is built here in the US except for some circuit board components. White's does their best to use US parts though. Cost of components can determine where they come from. "Thought I read this once about the components."

I think it would be hard to find any electronic product that is assembled using 100% US parts ....

The MX Sport s made in the USA

However, Many electronic parts and raw materials are not available made in the USA. White's uses USA raw materials when possible, however it is not always possible.

FTC says all or virtually all of negligible parts which doesn't include every and all. Whites surely strives in every aespect to keep it US.

If a thing a ma bob that goes on the green board is needed to construct the sport and is only manufactured in China due to the China manufacturer being cheaper and keeping US competitors out of the market... then there's only one place to get it and it's not by choice.

See FTC regs on claims. So to be calculated if percentages were required based on the sports mass... most likely in the 99.4-99.9% made in the USA. If my VDI came in that high, I'd put money on it that's it's good on it's word to the best of it's ability.

Also... if whites knew a foreign part lasted 10 years longer and performed 10 times better... that would be Whites looking out for your best interest. This is not saying all parts come from China. I'm a detectorist not a lawyer or whites affiliated or work for the FTC and never stuck a sport in a giant graduated cylinder to measure its mass... although you could because it's waterproof.

My 2 worth: I recently learned from a dealer that there are Chinese made counterfeit detectors now on the market - including Whites. I can not verify this but it pays to buy from an authorized dealer or the factory. And when buying used, check it over well to be sure it is a true Whites.

Counterfeit products are the least of the markets issues at the moment although I do get mad at them, I have more concerns about which way the technology within the hobby is going and I am loosing interest fast, the internet has mixed feelings about what and where things are made, I hate the move to plastic unbalanced detectors that don't allow the use of larger coils. and the detector market is growing wider every week so with all the competition it will be good for the hobby as all the major players raise the bar. bottom line is there are good times ahead,

This thread has drifted off topic, and it has a response from Whites, so its being closed.
