    Body loose from rail

    I have a Classic IDX SL that I have had since new, and have found many things with it. A very sound machine. I have noticed that the controls box is getting loose from the pole rail. Do you have to take the cover off the box to get to the nuts that tighten the box back up to the rail? This is now my spare unit as I recently purchased a MXSport. I want to loan it to others and use it as a backup. Thanks!

    I'm not sure about that machine. Someone should be along with an answer for you soon.

    Just looked at my IDX. Looks like the box cover has to come off for sure .... You might have to remove the PC board as well .... Good luck !!

    I just looked at my V3i and if your machine is about the same as it. Then I think Fox is right about removing the circuit board. I take my V3i apart to clean it every year so it's really not that difficult to do. It's probably a really good idea to get that tightened up because if a nut or screw hits the circuit board, it could be catastrophic. Good luck.

    The control box lid is riveted to the rod with large (not common) stainless steel rivets.

    Most do not have access to such heavy duty rivets, or the tool to install them. The original rivet machine use here at the White's factory is a bit larger than a laundry washing machine, however, weighs a lot more!

    Replacing these rivets with nuts and bolts is not a long term well working path.

    It would be best to send it in for his service;

    If it only needs the control box rivets drilled out and replaced, likely looking at around $50. plus shipping
