    Metal detecting in Bahamas

I am going on a Royal Carribean cruise in September with friends and bringing our detectors. Has anyone else detected there? I was told that due to the coral not to bring my Stealth scoop and only to bring a hand scoop and mask as you can fan the bottom looking for targets. Any info and beach location info is`greatly appreciated. We will be`close to Treasure Island one day and a private island the next. I was told that the beach by treasure`island resort has sand that is too loose for detecting as heavy gold sinks down too far to detect. Thanks again for any info you can pass on. We will be detecting both in the water and the beach.

White's Spectra V3i. Eagle Spectrum. Bullseye and Garrett Pinpointers. Pro Star and Spectra Sound Head Phones. Super 12, 4X6 Eclipse and DD Coils.
I can not help you out with Bahama Beachs but, I thought beach hunting was like new territory every day due to the tides turning and churning the sand (and denser material) over and over again.
