1839-o half dime with rotated back
Went back to Moscow , Ky. and found this 1/2 dime . Cant find it in my books nowhere , so I dont guess it is any good unless some body knows something about it . I found one about a mile from here about two years ago but it was made right . Also found this 1865 penny with a hole in it of course . Good luck to all & HH.

Hey CWN great finds as always. I found a 1839 o half dime on this site. coinauctionhelp.com
Their guide said for that year there were three different size O's but doesn't state prices for them. It did list for VF $44. and EF $101. Yours looks in great shape from what I can tell so congrats.

That's a beautiful coin !! No drapery version. Based on the pic and 2009 Red Book, I'd say you have a $350+ coin there !! Super find !!If there's anything I hate worse than diggin' pulltabs, its missin' a gold ring.

1839 0 reverse of 1838 in f-12=$350
1839 0 F-12=$30
May be worth more with rotated reverse. not sure about that though...

Awesome find! That's called a rotated die error, and with that much rotation it should add quite a bit of value to the coin. Especially to people who collect error coins. Congrats!

Sweet half dime CWN What are your concerns about it ?? Your dime looks just like the picture in my coin book for that year.Ineptocracy [in-ep-toc'-ra-cy] - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers. There are three classes of people: those who see...those who see when shown...and those who do not see. - Leonardo da Vinci

How cool is that with the rotation, looks to me to be an error in some sort, I bet a coin dealer could give you a value of your coin. Awesome find.
Your other coin is a Chinese IH

Cool finds CWN. Killer just called to tell me about it. And it does look like a nail hole thru the coin. On the exit side the hole has 4-sides like the end of a nail did punch thru it. Still applying for the caddy job.lol. Looks like another great day at the office for you. Later.
