    Foreign Coin Identification

    Hey all,

I was looking through my foreign coins today and thought I might post a link to the two sites that I use to identify coins that I just can figure out or read. I also use it when people post coins that they just can't place.

This site has lots of pictures categorized by county. It's kind of shooting in the dark and making educated guesses when you look, but it has been helpful on many occasions when looking for newer foreign coins.

This site is really helpful and even has steps to help you identify your coin. I will post a link to the first step of identifying your coin. If the coin has markings in western languages, there is a link to help you with that. There is also a way to identify coins by common markings which can be very useful for Arabic and Asian coins. It also has old and newer coins.

Hope this helps people, I know it has been useful to me.
